Update on Resettlement of Puerto Rican Families in Hartford
In case you didn’t hear, Governor Lamond identified $75,000 in total– of state funding that will be used to provide minimal housing support for individuals and families who relocated to Connecticut who were displaced by the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico. The funds come from the CT Department of Housing and will be granted to a handful of nonprofits that will administer the funding including: San Juan Center in Hartford, Alp Community Services in Bridgeport, Casa Otoñal in New Haven and Hispanic Coalition in Waterbury. So far Hartford Public Schools have received 65 new students who relocated from Puerto Rico due to the earthquakes.
